PUTIEN Restaurant

0 comments
Another list to be added on to Resorts World Sentosa, we had a family gathering dinner on a Sunday. PUTIEN, one of the Chinese restaurant offered within Resorts World Sentosa were fully packed, crowds are still in the waiting list. We were offered a big table but with a condition, to return them the table by 8.30pm. Also, before i forget, they do not allow picture taking within the Restaurant itself.

Adopted from the website, PUTIEN restaurant, a modest eatery specializing in Heng Hwa cuisine, offers an oasis of simple indulgences amid one’s daily bustle.

The entrance

Braised Pig Intestine @ $9.90++

Deep Fried Tenggiri Fish @ $12.90++

PUTIEN Lor Mee @ $15.90++ (Medium)

Chili Live Clam (Also known as "La-la") @ $12.90

Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon @ $15.90++ (Medium)

Seafood Fried Rice @ $15.90++ (Medium)

Homemade Beancurd @ $8.90

Everything we ordered were small in quantity unless otherwise stated. Mediocre standard in terms of food quality, there are nothing special in these dishes to bring out the Heng Hwa style. From Fried Rice, to Lor Mee  to Heng Hwa Bee Hoon, they are basically the same dish except the different ways of cooking/methods. Fried Rice in this case stands out apart from others, Heng Hwa Bee Hoon's too dry and Lor Mee's too thick in texture.

However, the deep fried Tenggiri fish's evenly cooked and it comes with a special sauce to dip in. Homemade beancurd's smooth in texture. Braised Pig Intestine and Chili Live Clam looked pretty normal as well.

Ramen Play

We had a weekend stayover at the Hard Rock Hotel, Resort World Sentosa, and decided to give this Japanese Restaurant a go. Logically, there isn't much crowd on a Monday, thus we have no problem with finding seats.

Ramen Play Menu "Sanpou Ramen"

We were rather surprised that the Signature dish of Ramen Play is the rice instead of their Ramen. Nonetheless, we ordered the Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen and the popular Bamboo chicken (Waiting time said to be 15mins on the menu)

Sauce to go with your dishes

 Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen @$13.80++ (5 Slices of Chashu)

The Ramen is going for $11.80++ for 3 slices of Chashu but i would recommend you to choose 5 slices instead because the meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth. Try it yourself!

Bamboo Chicken @ $3.50++

Tactically, restaurant generally charged with a premium prices at tourist location such as the Resort World Sentosa. I'm unable to comment if Ramen Play's Ramen would be cheaper elsewhere, however the price might be a little too steep for a Ramen to cost around $15. Toastbox, just opposite, already cost $8.80 for a set of Laksa or Curry Chicken.
