Scoopz

Founded in 1996, Scoopz opened its first outlet at Parkway Parade and has been serving up the best of local ice cream flavours ever since. They have since opened the second outlet at Upper Thomson.

Scoopz Handmade Ice-Cream

We went cafe-hopping on a Good Friday, skipping the crowd in town and landed up at Upper Thomson. This is our first time to Scoopz and were attracted by the colours combination.

Promotion

The way the Polaroids being hung on the wall is what stands out in the cafe; a homey ambiance where teenagers gather for a good chill out session. It was not really crowded at the time when we entered.

Scoopz Lava Cake

Boardgames

The board games are available free for customers while they hang around the cafe just a little while more. There aren't alot of selection to choose from but what is there to complain when they provided it for free? There are some which they do charge you for these.

Giant 5: $7.50

Here comes our dessert. We ordered the Giant 5, 5 mini scoops of handmade ice-cream. The durian is one of the must-try flavor in the shop. We had peanut butter, strawberry shortcake, salted caramel and chocolate as well.

Give it a try if you must, as a dessert/ice-cream lover. Scoopz definitely give you an edge over the sticky chewy-ness of the ice cream they offered, and the portion is not really stingy. They are open from
12pm to 12am from Sun - Thur and  12pm to 2am  for Fri, Sat & Eve of PH.

While Lifestyle Asia picks it's top five dim sum restaurant in Singapore, there should be a post catered for the masses, where anyone can just drop by and have some dimsum anytime, anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, they are not as cheap as you think. We just realise that it shouldn't revolve to just the restaurant. Mongkok Dimsum 旺角點心, located at Geylang, is a popular hangout place for teenagers and young adults.

The Bungy Bar

Bungy Bar's located just beside the Bungy Jump (G-MAX Reverse Bungy). One of the co-sponsors for Oktoberfest 2011, we are fortunate to have won ourselves a $20 dining voucher.

Pretty interesting Menu

The place was so lively and we headed down for dinner. The live band played very nice music and ambience's fantastic especially it's near the river @ Clarke Quay. The open concept pub/bar was spacious and staff was friendly. In addition, they do serve iced water as well. Their happy hour's for the beer are reasonably priced.

Carbonara @ $21.00
We ordered a Fish & Chips, Carbonara, and they were served pretty fast. The potion (Carbonara) was good to go for one pax. It was much cheesy than i thought and overall was good, no complaints about this.

Fish & Chips @ $17.90
Next, Fish & Chips will never go wrong most of the times. However, B.B's offered a premium catch of the day and it taste just as good as the picture. One thing special about the Fish & Chips is the Tartar Sauce, it's neither too sour nor sweet. This was the best Tartar sauce yet. Fries was crispy and overall Awesome!

As quoted from it's website, if you are looking for a place to hangout with friends where the food is great and the drinks divine, head on down to the Bungy Bar. (I couldn't agree lesser) Recommended much!

KPO Cafe Bar

One of the coziest place to chill out is this KPO Cafe that is situated at Killiney Road Post Office. Together with BALACLAVA and Wala-Wala Cafe Bar, KPO is one of the creative company lead by Imagingings.

KPO Cafe Bar
We wanted to give it a try many a time during the weekdays and it's always fully pack, so we decided to check it out on a Saturday and guess what, it was relatively quiet. If you ever pass-by, it's really a post office beside. And several times, those luxury branded cars will be parked outside KPO like a showcase of art.

KPO Spring Chicken
The two-storey cafe has a big problem with the staircase as the "gaps" are rather big. Ladies would have a hard time climbing up and down. Happy hour ended at 8pm and after looking through the menu, we ordered the KPO Spring Chicken and KPO Beef Burger

If you wonder why would i order a spring chicken over at KPO, that's because they offer a huge selection of local delicacies such as Nasi Lemak, Hokkien Mee and etc. Well cut the story short, i wouldn't have ordered Nasi Lemak for a whopping $16. SO, we ended up with something special (I suppose).

KPO Beef Burger with Potato chips.
The service was pretty good but the food's really overpriced for the portion that was offered. Nothing special about the KPO Spring Chicken and taste as good as the one, what coffeeshop uncle can offer at $4.50. I would probably have a chicken feast with the kind of money spent here at KPO ($17). The drinks are reasonable, $7/8 for a bottled beer but definitely not the price for the food. KPO Beef Burger was generally good except that the portion is small, beef minced meat was juicy.

The feels like modern-home concept definitely attracts me back for a drink or two but not for the food again. KPO Cafe Bar also offered 'LIVE' Telecast of soccer, so it would be a popular hangout for fans out there. Afterall, a good and cosy place to chillout.
